The Bannister Hotel is named after Jack Bannister, an English privateer who had revolted, or “risen” against the English authorities, and in 1690 fought from two ships against two English frigates on the edge of the island that was named “Bannister's Caye”. ” and then “Cayo del Levantado”, visited today by thousands of tourists.
